Charles E. Kolb to be honored

On May 9th at 3:30 pm, the inaugural Kolb lecture will be given at MIT in Cambridge, MA in room 54-915. 

Charles E. Kolb (1945-2020) was a leader in the fields of environmental and atmospheric chemistry. He served as Aerodyne Research’s CEO for 35 years. Although he is no longer with us, his contributions still affect his loved field.

Among Chuck’s many contributions was his work with academia and the younger generations of scientific thinkers. This lecture honors and continues that work.

The Charles  E. Kolb '67 Lecture 

Thursday, May 9th, 3:30 PM, MIT Campus – Room 54-915.

Aerodyne Research’s own Doug Worsnop will give an introduction in rememberance of Chuck’s impact in atmospheric chemistry. It will be followed by the inaugural lecture by Professor Steven C. Wofsy.

Steven C. Wofsy is the Abbott Lawrence Rotch Professor of Atmospheric and Environmental Chemistry of the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS) at Harvard University.

His talk, titled “The Rise of Atmospheric Methane & Prospects for Bending the Curve” highlights his work studying human impacts on our environment and steps to mitigate that impact.
