A multi-purpose tool for tunable diode laser data  acquisition and spectral analysis.

TDLWintel Software

Aerodyne Research, Inc. (ARI) is pleased to offer our laser control and spectroscopic analysis program, TDLWintel. TDLWintel is a general purpose laser control and spectral analysis program. It makes high resolution, quantitative laser spectroscopy easy. TDLWintel controls the laser, monitors the laser detector, acquires and displays high resolution spectra and interprets the spectra to derive molecular concentrations. This analysis is done in real time with fitting rates as fast as 100 samples per second.

Basic Features:

  • Laser frequency scanned with a computer generated voltage ramp.

  • Detector monitored synchronously with laser scan.

  • Laser turned off after each sweep to measure absolute absorbance.
  • Sample pressure and temperature continuously monitored.

  • Software control of all relevant parameters: sweep rate, gain, number of points, etc...

  • Multiple species nonlinear least squares fits to overlapping spectra to determine molecular concentrations.

  • Software control of all relevant fit parameters.

  • Spectroscopic constants input in HITRAN format - easily extended to non-HITRAN molecules.

  • Continuous automated operation (stream mode) with time resolution of 10 ms under ideal conditions.

  • Screen displays of spectra and fits in real time.

  • Screen displays of molecular concentrations as a function of time.

  • Spectra saved in compact binary format.

  • Molecular concentrations can be written to disk, shared across a network, written to an RS232 port or exported as an analog voltage.

  • Remote instrument control.

Advanced Features:

  • Background spectra with dry nitrogen can be acquired automatically and used to remove low level noise in the sample spectra.

  • The laser frequency can be locked to a reference absorption line.

  • Spectra can be acquired with high time resolution (~15 microseconds) using a triggered data acquisition approach (burst mode).

  • Laser amplitude noise can be suppressed using a reference detector for normalization - this is especially useful with pulsed lasers.

  • Frequency tuning rate function automatically determined from etalon spectrum.

  • Flexible automatic gas calibration options.

  • Sophisticated post-analysis features.

  • Ability to interface with Laser Components L5830 diode laser controller for direct control of all diode laser parameters including laser temperature and current.

  • External control of TDLWintel by other processes using command language.

  • Real time data sharing across network using DEFT protocol.

Hardware Requirements:

  • 500 MHz Pentium computer with Windows 95/98/2000 operating system.

  • National Instruments (www.ni.com) PCI-6111E (2 inputs) DA board.

  • National Instruments PCI-6024E DA board.

Deliverables:

  • TDLWintel installation disks.

  • License to use one instance of TDLWintel.

  • Instructions for getting started with TDLWintel.

  • Telephone support for 90 days after receipt of software.

Cost: $5,000
